"Almost Maine"

Sparks will fly this fall as TWN calls all actors to the stage to workshop this exciting, uplifting, ingeniously tight written piece "Almost Maine" Jane Kurakula will take the talents of island actors and workshop this show onto the stage. Open auditions will be in September for a November curtain.
"Almost Maine” is set at 9PM on a Friday night in the dead of winter. The residents of the mythical town of Almost, Maine are shown falling in and out of love at an alarming rate. In each scene a couple meets, flirts, bickers, and sometimes reunites.
Most exchanges contain a kiss, and most conclude happily, or at least hopefully. We are never far away from a faint dusting of snowbound magical realism. "Almost Maine" is engineered to be a crowd pleaser. Knees are bruised, hearts are broken; but bruises heal and hearts mend -- almost -- in this delightful romantic comedy.
It will touch your heart and stir your soul, warming both like the perfect cup of coco on a cold winter’s night.
