Opening August 26th and running every Wednesday Thru Saturday thru September 10th, The Theatre Workshop of Nantucket presents My Old Lady, a poignant yet humorous play by Israel Horovitz, set in a Belle Epoque apartment in present day Paris. A down on his luck middle aged American man arrives in Paris to take possession of the apartment his recently deceased father willed him, only to find an old woman is living there. Due to a contractual arrangement found only in France, she retains lifetime rights to the flat. Having no where else to turn, she invites him to move in with her and her outspoken daughter, who is not very pleased about the arrangement … initially.

Veterans of the Nantucket stage, Jetti Ames and Eric Schultz join relative new-comer, Pam Murphy in this intelligent and engaging comedy directed by TWN's Artistic Director, Jane Karakula. Ms. Ames is reprising the role of the old woman, Mathilde Giffard, from her recent run in Tuscon, AZ. Eric was last seen in TWN's magnificent production of ART! last Fall and Pam most recently played Melissa Gardner in TWN's Love Letters.

My Old Lady closed a short time ago after a very successful run at Horovitz' own Gloucester Stage achieving critical acclaim in the Boston Globe for it's charm, imagination and pacing.

Tickets are $20 and reservations can be made by calling the box-office at 508-228-4305. Theatre Workshop of Nantucket is located in the United Methodist Church at 2 Centre St. Newly installed seating and air conditioning add to a totally enjoyable experience.
