Over the River and Through the Woods has been called “deliriously funny” and “loaded with laughs every step of the way” by critics from the Daily News and the Star-Ledger. The show originally opened at the John Houseman Theatre in 1998 and the crowd was convulsed with laughter.
Young Nick’s decision about his future spurs his four Italian-American grandparents into a torrent of meddling, matchmaking and micromanagement of his life, all to the tune of “Manga! Manga!” These well meaning, loveable characters provide all the guilt, love, and exasperation that comes with being part of a family!
The show is directed by Jane Karakula, TWN’s Artistic Director, who also brought us the enormously successful My Old Lady last summer on TWN’s downstairs stage. The returning Jetti Ames, 18 year veteran of the Nantucket stage and the lead in My Old Lady, plays one of the grandmothers.
Tickets $25
